Our prompt for this project was to create packaging for a resource you can get for free, like a pet rock or tree stick. I thought it would be interesting to go with a beach theme and combine that with a cosmetic feel through packaging design. I decided to use sand, seaweed and seashells as my natural resource to create body scrubs titled “beach daze”. It was a simple project, but I learned many ways how to experiment with both typography and illustration to keep a unique style. I wanted to emphasize the sleek look of cosmetic brands with the typography while keeping the quirky style with my illustrations to juxtapose the two creating a unique package.
